The Carter School invited me to their annual Thanksgiving Feast last Friday. I went and spent the whole lunch chatting with Marianne, the principal and Elynor, the owner of Wally's Jazz Cafe. Two extraordinary women. Then I photographed the King Circle.

Quote of the Day
Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Martin always has something special to say to us. He is truly one of the most important philosophers in history. His philosophy (love of wisdom - via Middle English, Old French, Latin and originating with the Greeks), developed over many years of study, changed the world and continues to be a major influence.

If you at all doubt that the Stones are the world's greatest rock and roll band this video will take care of that.
I'm reading Keith Richard's new autobiography Life. Fascinating, hilarious, scandalous, thoughful. His total immersion in and commitment to music is inspiring. The comments about songwriting are especially interesting. He does go on a bit about Mick, but clearly, on every level, that's been and remains the most important relationship of his life, however fraught.
I met and partied with Keith at Steve Jordan's loft in New York one New Year's Eve. I'd never seen the Stones at the point, but later I saw the X-pensive Winos at the Orpheum in Boston. What a show that was!

We have a great, inspiring quote today by the always quotable Winston Churchill. Who else would define success this way? Brilliant. I liked yesterday's by Jefferson too (see below). Words to live by.
